today, i'm betty nguyen. frightening moments, an singapore air flight. flames engulfed the aircraft's right wing after one of the engines caught fire. the plane carrying 222 passengers and 19 crew from milan turned back two hours into the flight due to an early morning message. passengers were kept on the plane while emergency crews doused in with water and foam. fortunately, there were no injuries, the cause, though, is still being investigated. ten people are in clashes with a white supremacist group outside of the capitol that led to clashes. mike leery from our affiliate in california has details. >> reporter: a raucous rally at the state capital, turned bloody as more than 100 protesters here started throwing projectil

marlboro. what caused the fire, we're still looking for more information on that and we're staying in touch with officials. back to you. the man arrested for recent security scare at the white house faces a preliminary hearing today. court documents say jesse oliveri told a secret service officer that he came to d.c. to, quote, shoot people last month. an agent shot him as he approached the white house checkpoint holding a gun. he faces 20 years in prison if convicted. police are looking for this man. he's accused of stabbing a special police officer at the giant in southeast. the officer confronted the man who pulled out a knife and stabbed him and escaped. if you know who this is or have any information that can help locate him, call police. in the day ahead,
